The ride-sharing service Uber has announced it is launching an Uber Car in India, which will allow customers to hail a vehicle in a matter of minutes.
The company is offering free rides on select Uber Car service, but the ride-hailing service is limited to one per customer per day.
The car is expected to be rolled out on the city’s roads by the end of this month.
“We are thrilled to announce that Uber will be opening an UberCar in Mumbai,” Uber India Chief Executive Amit Singhal said in a statement.
“This will give customers in Mumbai a new way to get around the city.
UberCar will be a platform that makes it easy for customers to get in touch with drivers in the city, which is essential for driving in Mumbai and beyond.”
Uber said it will also be opening a taxi service, and Uber India is working to provide rides for the service.
Uber said that it will allow riders to book their rides for free from any of the five UberCar services, and will add more UberCar drivers as part of the rollout.
It will also allow customers with a car to choose their own UberCar.
Uber has not yet said how many UberCar service drivers it plans to launch in Mumbai.
